3 Policemen arrested in connection with public torture

JALALPUR BHATTIAN: Three policemen, who were seen torturing the accused publicly in a video aired by Geo New on Wednesday, were arrested on Thursday.

Acting on the order of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, DIG Gujranwala Zulfiqar Cheema visited the police station himself and took the action against the policemen involved in the brutal act.

The cops shown in the video were identified as Constables Waris, Ejaz and Shahzad.

DIG Cheema told Geo that nobody was above the law and no police personnel would be allowed to take illegal steps.

DPO Hafizabad was also directed to hold an inquiry into the incident.

Everyone should heaved a sigh of relief because at last some one mustered up the courage to take intiative to eradicate the atrocious and obnoxious culture of Pakistani police from Pakistan.
