The Communications Minister informed Pakistan Senate that the usage rights of Third Generation (3G) technology will be auctioned in a transparent manner according to a laid down procedure. 3rd generation mobile telecommunications is a generation of standards for mobile phones and mobile telecommunication services. The 3G auction procedure will be made public and all the information regarding the procedure and development of 3G auction will be available online via a website and to the media.
Pakistan is still behind many countries in implementing 3G mobile phone technology.
