Ex-servicemen for open trial of Musharraf

RAWALPINDI – Ex-Servicemen Society has demanded an open trial of President Pervez Musharraf and threatened to join the lawyers’ movement if President doesn’t resign till June 10.
These views were expressed by former director general Inter Services Intelligence General (Retd) Hamid Gul and Ex-Chairman Pakistan Steel Mills Limited General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum while talking to the media persons after the meeting of their organisation, consisting of former army officers, here on Saturday.
They said it was decided in the meeting that President Musharraf would be given time till June 10 and if he didn’t resign, their organisation would join lawyers’ movement. They said it had been decided that the body would participate in the long march of the lawyers. They demanded an open trial of Musharraf as per law instead of giving him and his team a safe passage.
Earlier, Lt General (Retd) Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani, Lt General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum, General (Retd) Hidayat, Brigadier Mehmood and others also attended the meeting.
