LAHORE: The administration of the Punjab University’s (PU) Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) conducted its mid-semester examination of BS (Hons), violating the instructions of Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran to postpone them. However, the department issued a press release late on Friday notifying its decision to call off the remaining exams.
ICS students and faculty members condemned the ICS administration, saying it had tried to undermine the efforts of the faculty and students against the Islami Jamiat Taliba (IJT).
PU Academic Staff Association (PUASA) President Mehr Saeed Akhtar said they had set up a committee to probe the ICS administration’s decision and ask why they had tried to sabotage the anti-IJT movement.
On Friday, only one department out of the 72 at PU conducted its exams against the VC’s instructions to postpone them until the varsity hostels and the campus re-opened. Read More
