Justice Javed’s brother nabbed in parents murder case

LAHORE: Brother of senior most judge of the Supreme Court Justice Javed Iqbal has been arrested as he has confessed to kill his parents. Naveed Iqbal has conferred his crime before police and he will be presented in the court of Judicial Magistrate today (Wednesday).

Naveed Iqbal, who was taken into custody Monday, confessed killing his parents when he was grilled by the authorities. He would be presented before local magistrate on Wednesday, police said.

The parents of SC Justice Abdul Hameed, a retired DIG in Punjab police and Amna Hameed were found dead at their private residence in cantonment police area a week ago.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, while talking to a private TV channel, said it was a planned murder not a robbery case, adding that the actual motive behind the murder had not been ascertained. He said there might be some family feud behind the double murder.

Punjab government Spokesman told media that Naveed Iqbal, who is a Sub Inspector in Intelligence Bureau (IB), was taken in custody on Monday and he admitted the heinous crime during the interrogation. His finger printers were also traced from the crime scene.

CCPO Lahore, Aslam Tareen addressing a press conference said that Naveed Iqbal planned the complete incident and killed his parents with his two other persons Amin and Abbas. He said that the murderer was unemployed and all the family separated him.
