Letter from Dr. Arif Alvi – APPEAL FOR LONG MARCH FUNDS
My Dear Patriotic Pakistanis and Friends of PTI:

As Salam Alaikum: اسلام علعکم

I am writing to you on behalf of our beloved country. We want to ensure that the nation is on the right path–the right path of progress and prosperity as envisioned by our Barrister Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and the millions of musslamans who laid down their lives to keep us free.

The entire world is watching us. Today we stand at the crossroads of history. On one side we have the struggle of the patriots for justice, and on the other we have a civilian dictatorship that takes orders from abroad, and denies justice to our citizens. Our struggle will impact millions.

In 1996 our leaders recognized the importance of “justice” in our country and founded “Pakistani Tehrik e Insaaf.” The vision was to provide justice to all the citizens of our great country. Today the entire spectrum of Pakistani politics recognizes the principled stance of Imran Khan and the entire country has joined him in our efforts to restore the judiciary.

Today our vision and our movement stands vindicated. It is no coincidence that the name of our party is “Pakistan Tehrik e Insaaf”. We are the flag bearers of the movement for the restoration of the judiciary. We are now in the final phase of the beginning of the change that is needed to restore Chief Justice Iftikahar Chaudri whose principled stand has become the symbol of Independent Judiciary.

The goal of our struggle is simple.

Restore the Chief Justice of Pakistan to his office by renouncing the illegitimate orders of an illegal dictator that had tried to remove him.

The heart of Overseas Pakistan beats with the nation. We need your prayers, and your support at this hour of need. Allah has been very kind to us. We have a achieved success because of our country. It is time to repay the nation by participating in our glorious struggle for our sovereignty and independence.

We have called for a peaceful “DHARNA”-D8ھرنا (Sit Down protest). We will continue to peacefully protest till we achieve our goals.

In order to wage our struggle we need over 300 buses to transport the 50000 party workers and supporters who are anxious to participate in the “dharna”-دھرنا . It cost about Rs. 20000 to rent a bus. We also need money for room and board for our patriots struggling for the judiciary. In order to make this a success we need funds.

Our country needs us.

We appeal to all of you to kindly donate what you can, before the 15th of March to meet the deadline to pay the bills. Every dollar counts .

To donate online please visit: http://www.insaf.pk/LongMarch2009/tabid/222/Default.aspx

Please help us build a better Pakistan.

We all know that Pakistan has a great future. We want to make sure that the Crescent and Star flies high among the comity of nations and our children can once again see the “Khanjar hilal Ka” fluttering high on the house of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Arif Alvi,
Secretary General,
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf
