ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday made it clear that Kerry-Lugar bill is not a bilateral agreement, therefore, accepting its all clauses is not mandatory.
Foreign officer spokesman Abdul Basit in a media briefing said acceptance of each term of Kerry-Lugar bill is not must for Pakistan and national interests will be defended at any cost. Foreign office stance is not different from Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s stand on the issue.
The spokesman said US president could return back any bill to Senate. Replying to question, Abdul Basit said there is not question of signing NPT and CTBT. He said Pakistan is strongly condemned suicide attack near Indian embassy in Kabul.
