ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to raise power tariff by 13.6 per cent from 1st January, the Water and Power Ministry Secretary Shahid Rafi announced on Monday.
According to Shahid Rafi, power tariffs were to be raised by 12 percent under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) while 1.6 percent hike, withdrew last time, has also been included in the new rates.
The new tariff will also be applicable on the consumers, using less then 100 unit a month.
He further said that agricultural consumers would also not be exempted from the raise.
