LAHORE: Barrister Iqbal Jaffery, on Thursday, moved a petition in the
Lahore High Court seeking directions to the federal government for
prosecuting the double murder accused American national Raymond Davis,
for committing forgery by applying for a visa under a fake name.
The petitioner submitted that Davis got a visa under a fake name,
which made the whole process of visa issuance doubtful and that his
visa stood cancelled ab intio (from the beginning). He contended that
the immunity obtained fraudulently had no validity anywhere in the
world, and that “Davis deserves no special treatment and should be
punished for killing and committing fraud”. The petitioner requested
the court that a fraud case should be lodged against Davis and action
be taken against him according to Pakistani laws.
