Secretary Information Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal said a troika comprising of President House, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and retired Generals is behind the on-going campaign to mar the image of Nawaz Sharif and that if this campaign is not stopped within 48 hours, it would meet its just answer.

Addressing a joint press conference with PML (N) leaders Mian Marghoob and Sarfaraz Shah in Lahore Ahsan Iqbal said the President House is using MQM against PML (N).

“Though Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has disregarded the Charter of Democracy, but one should not make fun of democratic system.”

He said 1992 operation was against dacoits in which only arrests were made, however extra judicial killings were practiced in 1996, when PPP was in power.

Ahsan Iqbal said, “Nawaz Shairf removed General Asad Durrani from his office, as Benazir Bhutto favoured him, and now as a revenge he is raising propaganda against the former prime minister.”

He alleged the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has turned into a bankrupt institution after it was handed over to the friends of the President.

The campaign against Nawaz Sharif has been launched to divert the attention of the masses from the issues like, rental power, sugar crisis and the trial of Pervez Musharraf, he continued.

The Prime Minister should notice that who is trying to sabotage the efforts for reconciliation, he concluded.

It is though not quite belated, but PML(N) has taken a bit longer to give out its warranted and merited Ultimatum and pour forth the irrefutable facts. The historic unanimous verdict of the Supreme Court of 31st July, 2009, the recent most US polls showing Nawaz Sharif way ahead in popularity Versus the incumbent President and the Prime Minister, duly endorsed by the categorical statements of the visiting US key dignitaries, and PML(N)’s demand in stentorious voice for Musharraf’s trial for High Treason are the factors to have triggered the campaign against Nawaz Sharif. As regards BB’s favor of appointing General Durrani as Ambassador to Germany was reportedly for Durrani’s determining and defining role in ensuring General Zia-ul-Haq’s presence in Bahawalpur on the fateful day in August, 1988.

PML(N) which was once considered to be a National Party, has now shrunken to a regional party which is popular only in eight regions of Punjab. Why this happened? because of the arrogance, bad-attitude, bad-language and many other negative attributes of its leading party members. I think, only sober member (to some extent) exists in this party is Mr. Javed Hashmi, but he can’t get the place of Mr. Nawaz Sharif, due to family politics, which exists in almost all parties in the country (except MQM), so all the rest are not ‘Political’ Parties, but are more appropriately said as ‘Family’ parties. So rather than clarifying what has been alleged by Brig. Imtiaz, all the members of PML(N) are now seem to be out of their minds and they do not understand how they will save their faces, and in this process they are giving the dead-lines to divert the nation from Brig. Imtiaz’s proofs.
