The Islamabad administration Thursday acted sharply by accepting all the
demands of violent protestors, who took to street against the hike in
fare of public transport.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad
suspended the notification issued about raise in transport fare and
restored old charges.

Earlier, the enraged protestors blocked
Murree Road, which led to worst traffic jam.

Police used gas
shells and baton-charged the protestors, but it failed to disperse them.

The
aerial firing left a protestor injured, who was shifted to PIMS
hospital in a critical condition. This annoyed the protestors, who
started pelting stones on policemen, injuring eight of them.

Besides,
the protestors also tortured some policemen and torn apart their
uniforms. One bus and police vehicles were damaged by the violent
protestors.

Taking notice of the incident, Prime Minister Syed
Yousuf Raza Gilani directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to
immediately submit the report.
