Strong protest and rallies continue in various cities and towns of
Punjab including its capital Lahore against scheduled and unscheduled
loadsheddings of 12 to 18 hours in many cities, towns and villages of
the province while enraged protesters set on fire bogies of a train in
Jhang.
Traders and citizens are protesting on loadshedding of
electricity and price increase of petroleum products in most of the
cities in Punjab where all types of businesses and routine of life
stood still.
In Sargodha, traders and citizens torched tyres
during protests and blocked the road. Hundreds of people attacked the
office of executive engineer. A partial transport strike was also
observed during which passengers and citizens faced great difficulties.
In Jhang, protesters threw stones, did ghrao and jalao. They stopped a train and set on fire its three bogies.
In Chiniot, police baton charged and fired in air to stop protesters from going to grid station.
Protesters blocked Sargodha-Faisalabad Road by torching tyres.
Participants of a rally in Hujrashah Muqeem attacked the WAPDA office and set office record and equipment on fire.
In
Gujrat, traders did not go on strike after assurances from federal
ministers Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar and Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira and all
business centres remained open.
In Arifwala, traders brought rallies and set tyres ablaze. Protesters were raising slogans against the government and the WAPDA.
Complete
shutterdown strike against loadshedding was seen in Sheikhupura where
rallies are being taken out while shops and trade centres remain closed
in Chichawatni.
In Mandi Ahmedabad, protest rally was brought out and participants raised slogans against the WAPDA.
Complete
shutterdown is also being seen in Kasur, Hafizabad, Gaggu Mandi,
Pasrur, Chunnian, Nurpur Thal, Pindi Bhattian and rallies are being
taken out there.
