Terrorism is a global concern: CNS

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Noman Bashir has said that terrorism is a global issue and requires global response.

Talking to media here on Friday, Noman Bashir said that the sea routes were being used for illegal acts like smuggling and human trafficking. He said the Pakistan Navy was a frontline force to counter all threats emanating from the sea.

The naval chief said the country was facing multiple challenges. He said that lone Mumbai attacks gunman Ajmal Kasab did not go to India from Pakistan, he questioned the role of Indian Navy and Coastguards saying they did nothing to check terrorists’ infiltration.

Noman said that 99 percent of Pakistan’s trade is carried out through sea routes.
