ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan has exposed that US-brokered deal between Musharraf, Zardari which basically reversed the wish of the people.

In an interview with the BBC he said the mandate was that the people wanted the judges back, who were unconstitutionally removed by Musharraf and they wanted Musharraf out and all subsequent polls have confirmed this. But, he said, according to the deal Musharraf was supported to say and in return Asif Zardari’s corruption cases worth billions of dollars were to given amnesty.

He said there has been a reversal of people’s mandate, adding in other words Musharraf is staying and the judges are not being allowed to take their constitutional position.

He said people expected something to come out of the February 18 elections, in other words a road map towards reinstatement but this show of force, the spontaneous response of the people was unprecedented.

He said that there is temporary glitch in this revolution but eventually Asif Zardari himself will be swept away if he does not conform what the people want and what his party wants. He said there is a lot of pressure from within his party now. There is already a forward bloc about to come out in the open led by was Amin Makhdoom Fahim.
