20091209 e01 US Consulate Staff Disallowed Legal Checking, May Be Involved in Lahore Bombing ? PakPoint.comUS Consulate May Be Involved in Lahore Bombing Incident. US Consulate violating the Law of Land

LAHORE: Passengers of two US consulate cars refused to let security agencies inspect their vehicles when they were stopped at Sherpao Bridge on Tuesday, and the ensuing, three-hour argument led to a major traffic jam on Jail Road.

The vehicles were later allowed to go when it was verified that the passengers were holders of blue visas. Sources said military personnel had stopped the vehicles – which had tinted windows – for routine checking at a Sherpao Bridge picket, but the drivers locked the cars from the inside.

However, the sources said the security personnel surrounded the cars – with the drivers trying to drive on – and insisted on checking them. The vehicles were kept from leaving the picket for at least three hours.

Intelligence officials – who had arrived at the picket – also tried to persuade the passengers to let their vehicles be checked, but those in the car argued that since they were from the US consulate, they did not fall under the purview of routine checking.

But the military personnel refused to let them go until the arrival of their seniors and provincial government officials, said the sources.

Cantt SP Capt (r) Ghulam Azfar told Daily Times police were not involved in the incident, as the vehicles were stopped at an army picket. However, he confirmed that the vehicles were from the US consulate. He said the passengers argued that since they were holders of blue visas, they were exempt from such checking.

He said the passengers’ identity was verified through the consulate and the Home Department, and “they were, therefore, allowed to go”. He said the cars could not be checked after it had been proven that the passengers were from the US consulate, as “blue visas cover them from such routine checking”. A military personnel told Daily Times that senior army officials took the vehicles to an unidentified location for interrogation, but allowed them to leave later.

This is horribly sad that PML(N) people associate so called goodness to PPP as this has been proofed that they are puppets of American & Brits DECLARED SLAVE have had it beaten in their heads for hundreds of years the problem is that we focus so much on the now, not realizing that now is only a product of then, I am an Orthodox Muslim & thereafter a Pakistani as well & do not believe that Muslim should be unsuccessful without the assistance of the West rather I strongly believe if strongly hold the rope of Almighty Allah Jj i.e. Holy Quran & Ahadees in the form of beloved Prophet Muhammad Ss as this is the only natural way-out of our entire problems.

This is totally ludicrous, why any one would be exempted from security checks. Pakistan is fighting two wars at the same, internal elements (I’m referring to those people who are working under MOI and Intelligence Agencies) are trying their utmost to destablise the country and secondly the rouge elments working for external spy agencies such as CIA, M5, RAW & MOSSAD. These people are bending their backs to create havok in all parts of Pakistan but regrettably our corrupt politicians are still licking their shoes.

For all the bomb blasts in the country our Interior Minister Rehman Malik is fully responsible, either he should resign or accept the responsibility. Why Rehman Malik did not take any action against those two vehicles in which foreigners were sitting and they refused to give search of the vehicles.

Keeping in view the prevailing security environments in the country, principally every citizen of the country is supposed to be extra vigilant and careful. Specially the Law Enforcing Agencies. As per the traffic rules tinted glasses are not allowed on motor cars. So, it was very wise of the Military Picket to check the US motor cars with tinted glass. Rule is a rule and it applies to everybody in the country whether a citizen or osutsider. We as a nation try to ensure security surveilence of our motherland in true spirit and nobody MUST BE excused from it.
